The Alliance for American Quilts has created this privacy policy in order to demonstrate our firm commitment to privacy. We hope the following statement will help you understand how The Alliance collects, uses, and safeguards the personal information you provide on our web site www.centerforthequilt.org. While we do not intend to make changes to our policies very often, it is always a good idea to double check when you visit our site to be sure that you have read and agree with our most current policy statement. We will not make any changes that have retroactive effect unless legally required to do so.

Information Collection

When you browse any of the web pages on www.centerforthequilt.org, you do so anonymously. We do not collect personal information, including your e-mail address, unless you voluntarily provide it to us. • fill out The Alliance membership form;
• make a donation to The Alliance;
• request a contact from one of The Alliance members or staff;
• participate in the H-Quilt Forum or one of the online interactive projects of The Alliance at The Center For The Quilt Online.

When you visit our site, your IP address (the Internet address of your computer) is logged to give us an idea of which parts of our Web sites you visit, how long you spend there, and other general demographic usability information. We also use your IP address to help diagnose problems with our server, and to administer our web site. The only other information automatically provided to us is the type of computer and operating system you are using, which is supplied by your browser. In aggregate, these data are used to inform The Center For The Quilt Online on which parts of the sites are being used most frequently, and which reports, studies, Requests for Proposals, press releases, and the like, are of most interest to our readers and visitors.

You will also have the opportunity then to indicate whether you wish to decline to receive promotional or updated news events about The Alliance or its partners.
